Dedrone by Axon

Multi-sensor drone detection and a managed city detection data service.

CompanyDraft record

Identity and relationship

Official identity: Dedrone, now part of Axon. Dedrone published its acquisition-completion announcement on October 2, 2024, updated December 15, 2025. This is corporate primary evidence, not independent performance validation. Relationship: detection-system provider and direct detection-data-network comparator through DedroneCity.1

Offering and evidence

All capability statements below are vendor claims, checked against the archived pages on October 9, 2026 (America/Los_Angeles). Undated pages have unknown publication dates.

Offering Collection and output Deployment/access Evidence and limits
DedroneTracker.AI Fuses RF, radar, video and acoustic inputs; advertised outputs include drone/pilot location, model, risk ranking, alerts and flight-history reports Customer security systems and sensor integrations; API integration shown, but no public API contract or bulk-data licensing established “Smart Airspace Security”, “Platform of Integrations” and “Reporting and Forensic Evidence”. No independent accuracy tests inspected.2
Dedrone RF sensors Receives drone/controller radio signals; classification and localization differ by sensor. RF-160 detects/classifies; RF-310 is positioned for closed networks; RF-360 is cloud-ready Customer-installed sensors; angle-of-arrival localization can require multiple receivers RF overview and FAQ. Vendor explicitly qualifies controller localization by conditions; a receiver is not proof of complete airspace coverage.3
Remote ID support Receives standard Remote ID within broader detection system Advertises US/EU standard support since 2021 Product statement, not proof of detecting every drone or authoritative interpretation of regulation.4
DedroneCity Network access to drone model/serial, altitude, drone/pilot locations and alerts Customer need not install hardware; two-week trial advertised; vendor claims availability in 50+ cities and a database exceeding 430 million flights Undated city product page. Sensor siting, current city-by-city service levels and deduplication methodology not disclosed in reviewed evidence.5

Pricing, participation and current status

Live product and contact/trial pages support a current marketed offering; successful ordering, field operation and service levels were not tested. No numeric list prices or participant payouts appeared in these reviewed pages. DedroneCity's “Join the Global Network” wording accompanies a customer trial; it does not establish an open sensor-host contribution program. Contributor eligibility, hardware subsidy, data ownership, retention and resale rights remain unknown.25

The company presents international deployments and global service scope; named offices include the US, Germany and UK. These are vendor statements, not an audited coverage map.13

Contradictions and unanswered questions

The same Tracker page says 955+ protected sites in its opening description and 500+ in its FAQ. Tracker refers to nearly 300 drone types, while the RF overview claims roughly 600 individual models. These may reflect different products or stale copy; this study does not combine them into a current coverage metric.23

The direct Axon announcement URL returned HTTP 403 to the archive helper; that failed attempt is retained in its source record. Dedrone's own complete announcement text was captured instead. Its repetition is not independent corroboration.

Relevance and analysis

DedroneCity shows that network-level detection-data access is already marketed. Enterprise API integration and network access do not imply that a third party may republish detections or that private sensor owners can join for payment. Requested follow-up evidence: current coverage map, supported export schemas, data terms, qualified host program if any, price quote and independently measured detection/false-positive performance.
